Hello Friend

So after participating in The Daily Marker 30 Day of coloring back in February (yes many moons ago) I figured it was about time to put some of the wonderful colored images onto some cards! One of my favorite stamp sets (and I *ahem* seem to have many lol) is from Mama Elephant called girlfriends. Let’s get started!

Of course the first thing I did was stamp the images onto Neenah cardstock, colored them, then fussy cut one image for the card. Next I did all my die cutting. I used a rectangle stitched die with polka dot paper to create a panel for the A2 sized card base. Next I used a Polaroid die and cut it twice with white heavyweight cardstock making sure to cut the heart shape portion of the die with pink patterned paper. I die cut the word hello three times with black cardstock and glued the layers together for dimension. I also masked and only stamped the word “friend” from a “hello friend” sentiment onto the pink patterned heart.

The super fun part of this card was creating a scene for the “Polaroid picture”. To start I used a cloud stencil with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Ink to create a sky onto the inner square of the Polaroid die cut piece. Next to create a park landscape, I used the tree dies from the Lawn Fawn Shadow Box Card die set and a wavy die from My Favorite Things Stitched Scallop Basic Edges to create hills. I varied the colors of green to create interest and depth.

Once I knew the placement of the dies I glued them into place. I took the fussy cut girlfriends image and backed it with double sided foam tape (two layers) to make them pop off of the card. I glued the pink patterned heart into place and the word hello on the left side of it. The felt I needed a bit of something on the top portion of the card so I decided to cut a strip of yellow polka dot paper, cut the ends at a diagonal, and adhere it on the top center of the Polaroid die cut to resemble a piece of washi tape holding the photo in place.

There you have it! I just love the way way the card turned out – and since I have two more of the same images prepared I just might create different style cards with them as well…stay tuned for that lol. Hope you like this card as much as I do! Until next time wishing you a super crafty day 😊
