Bon Voyage Happy Honeymoon

Hey there and happy Wednesday! The card I’d like to share with you today is a simple one. Made with best wishes for a newlywed couple in mind, I thought it would be a great way to send off the love birds on their first adventure as Mr. and Mrs. in a fun way!

Here we go. As always, I stamped and Copic colored the back facing boy, girl, and car images from Penguin Palace Sweet Ride. I also used the coordinating Penguin Palace Perfect Cut Sweet Ride matching dies to cut the images. Additionally I fussy cut the images of the boy and girl so it would match the outline to the interior of the car image. I then glued them onto the car image to create a new image of the couple riding in the car and set it aside.

Next I took an A2 sized Bristol paper panel and placed a circle stencil in the center to mask off a white area that would become a “moon”. I then blended Distress inks (Seedless Preserves, Faded Jeans, Stormy Sky, and Black Soot) over the stencil to create a night sky. I lightly spritz water onto the panel then set it aside.

I took a piece of white cardstock and die cut a scalloped edge semi-circle that would become the “hill” for my card. I used the distress ink Mowed Lawn to color the die cut shape. I then stamped the sentiments “bon voyage!” and happy honeymoon” onto the center of the die cut and set it aside.

Before assembling the card I created an A2 sized card base. Next I adhered the die cut “hill” onto the bottom of the Bristol inked panel. I used fun foam and backed the car image then glued it in the center of the hill die cut, above the sentiments. I cut the Bristol panel to 4 1/8″ x 5″ and mounted it onto a piece of magenta cardstock measured at 4 1/8″ x 5 1/4″. I then took the magenta mat and centered it onto the A2 card base.

I wanted to add an element of sweetness on the card, so I decided to stamp the mini sentiment “I love you” and heart images above the heads of the young couple. Of course for finishing touches I used Stickles to outline the “moon”, Wink of Stella to sparkle the car, and Glossy Accents to emphasize the hearts. Now the card is complete!

Hope you enjoyed this fun creation. Just a simple way to continue showering the newlywed couple with lots of love! Thanks so much for stopping by and wishing you as always a super crafty day 😊
